Joel Barton is a multidisciplinary artist based in Sheffield, working under the name Nazusk.

Rooted in a background of graffiti lettering, his practice centres on shape, mark-making, and typography, evolving these foundations across painting, collage, illustration, design, and print.

His work explores the relationship between natural landscapes and overlooked urban spaces, combining collage and painting to create layered compositions that reflect processes of growth, erosion, and decay. Drawing inspiration from geological formations, rock textures, graffiti, and weathered city surfaces, he develops a visual language that merges organic forms with industrial remnants.

Through texture, abstraction, and material experimentation, Barton examines how natural and human-made environments intersect, transform, and leave traces over time.
