A Broken Window Lets The Sunlight Flood In

Broken Windows takes its title from the Broken Window Theory, which suggests that visible signs of damage and disorder can contribute to further neglect. The work looks at these marks of damage in a different way, finding beauty in the textures, colours and layers that build up on our streets. Tags, scratches, peeling surfaces, weathering and vandalism become starting points for this collection of paintings on paper, combining spray paint, oil pastel, gouache, acrylic and collage.
